Girl Dinner

By now you know “Girl Dinner,” and I am no stranger to it either. Some of my FAVORITE nights are the ones where Nick and I aren’t eating dinner together and I can have a plate of whatever I want: mac & cheese, popcorn, frozen peas, chicken nuggets. (And chicken nuggets are almost always on my girl dinner menu). I wanted to have some fun with creative shoots when it comes to my food, but also as it relates to the blog.

Gluten Free Chicken Nuggets

My inspiration for recipes comes often from family & friends; the things they love, the requests they make, the random late night texts I get “Do you have a recipe for ___ on the blog?!”. This time around it was my Gluten Free bestie, Alex. Every time I make gluten free things for her, I want them to taste JUST LIKE the real thing & she is my taste tester. We just about died over these chicken nuggets once I got them perfect & she HAD to be in my photoshoot.

These Gluten Free Chicken Nuggets are THE PERFECT girl dinner (& by the way they are toddler approved). Make 2 batches, freeze some, they cook from frozen perfectly.

Dirty Martini Mocktail

Next up on the girl dinner menu was my Non Alcoholic Dirty Martini. Alex and I are LOVERS of olives – the dirtier the martini, the better. But I don’t really drink. And I still want to take part in the festivities! I loved a dirty martini back in the day & I love holding a drink with my friends while they are drinking, especially if it is beautiful and delicious (& not $10 for a fancy juice). This is an easy drink to make batches of or just two at a time. It was a major source of inspiration for the photoshoot & we drank it all night.

If you are a non-drinker like me, or going through a sober phase, try out this Virgin Dirty Martini Recipe – it’s AMAZING with blue cheese or feta stuffed olives.

Another major source of inspiration is my absolute favorite jewelry designer in Philadelphia, Feast Jewelry. She is incredible & everything just perfectly fit the vibe.
