Caramelized Onion Crostini w/ Black Pepper Steak & Blue Cheese

    Caramelized Onion Crostini

There are affiliate links in this post. This means I may make a small commission on what you purchase, at no cost to you at all! I only do this because I love & truly believe in these products, and your purchases through me support this blog. If you feel comfortable doing that, I thank you more than you know. Oh & I ONLY search for the best deals, of course.

It is CHRISTMAS TIME! And I have been getting a lot of requests for what to bring to family parties, brunches, lunches, friend’s parties, etc. This Caramelized Onion Crostini is a showstopper. I am loving Caramelized onions right now; they just scream winter season. They are warm, sweet, tangy and so good paired with so many different foods.

    Caramelized Onion Crostini

I specifically paired this Caramelized Onion Crostini with a thinly sliced flank steak with a lot of black pepper. That hint of black pepper spice just cuts the sweetness of the caramelized onions perfectly. You can make all of the components ahead of time, and warm your steak and crostini in the oven right before assembling. Or you can serve room temperature with the same delicious flavors.

Pro tip: I have been making these Caramelized Onion Crostini for dinner. With all of the same components of the recipe, I switch the baguette to a large slice of sour dough and have it for dinner on the side of my plate. Next, add the caramelized onions on top of the steak with arugula, blue cheese & balsamic glaze, and serve. It is insanely delicious, and Steve and I are absolutely loving this for a weekly meal because it is so easy to meal prep. AND of course, have as a leftovers.

Finally, you can make the balsamic glaze homemade if you’d like. I have a recipe for that here in my Bacon Wrapped Chicken stuffed with Goat Cheese & Spinach. But, my favorite store bought is my go to when making it for a large group because, let’s be real, store bought sometimes is just way easier.

AND finally, again, if you make this, please tag me on instagram or comment here! I love seeing how you make and adapt my recipes.
