Ranch Pretzel & Cheddar Crusted Chicken. Yes, it is as crazy good as it sounds and looks. After six days in Maine on vacation, I am so happy to be home, back in the kitchen. This Ranch Pretzel & Cheddar Crusted Chicken was a perfect accident that happened a few weeks ago. Do you ever play a little episode of Chopped in your kitchen? I had a bag of pretzel crisps that I didn’t want to eat in one sitting (which was on the verge of happening), some cheddar cheese, and ranch seasoning I had been playing with. And this beauty is what came out!

I threw the ranch seasoning in the food processor with the pretzels & used it to crust the chicken. I prefer using the Original Pretzel Crisps for this recipe, but I think any thin pretzel will do! You also can blend with your favorite (dried) ranch seasoning. I tried with multiple & it worked in all variations. Like your average breaded chicken, you just dip the chicken breasts in each mixture and bake it. The pretzels are perfect because the chicken stays crispy, and there is no frying involved.
To jazz this recipe up, of course, the fresh herbs and ranch dressing are my favorite additions. I have my own Ranch Recipe, but you can use any of your favorites. The chives and dill add freshness, and I think you will love it. Meal prep this Ranch Pretzel & Cheddar Crusted Chicken, make it for a fun date night, or the kids and family. It is perfect sliced thin over a salad, or with your favorite veggie on the side. Pro tip? I know us cheese lovers LOVE tons of cheese, but too much cheese takes away the crispness of the pretzels. So don’t fret if tons of cheese isn’t sticking to your chicken. It is going to melt and spread!
