Garlic Butter Peas. I LOVE peas. I know this is a polarizing sentence for some reason, because there are some real pea haters out there. But I think they are so delicious. I snack on peas during the week or make them for a quick side for dinner. And I make them with this quick, garlic butter sauce constantly. I always want to be cooking for you, the dishes that I cook for me. And a lot of the time, that is a really quick, 10 minute side dish.

Ten Minute Side Dish is a concept I came up with to test what we can do in ten minutes. Maybe you really are in the mood to make something with steak or chicken and spend the time on it, but you have no idea what side to make. Maybe you have something in the freezer, but need a healthy vegetable. Some days, you want a quick lunch or throw that leftover chicken over a delicious side. I have some great ideas, and I literally time myself for 10 minutes. So when I say, this is going to take you ten minutes, I mean it!
This dish requires almost no describing. Microwave the frozen peas with a tiny bit of water, the peas release some of their juices and meld with the water that steams them. The butter melts into all of that creating a butter sauce. And we take a little short cut using a tiny bit of garlic powder and lemon juice for extra flavor and balance. It’s one of my favorite things I make, and it is simple as hell. I hope you love it.
